My goal is to find a job in the CG industry, either as a 3D Generalist or an Animator. Although my dream is to work as an animator for a feature film, I will be happy to work in any creative area: films, games, adverts… as long as I do what I like (3D). The first step to achieve these goals would be to make a CV targeting those positions.

Again, same as my business card and website, I wanted the design to be in my style.
Based on my research I have included the following: A professional summary that does not use the word I, and describes my strengths and profile. My skills include the software I am familiar with. My experience, as I do not have any professional experience, I have listed the courses and projects I’ve undertaken. And finally my education.
After creating my CV & Website it’s time to start my application process. My main place to look for work is LinkedIn. I am applying there for any role that matches my search for a 3D generalist or Animator. Also, I try to spend about 20 minutes a day looking for jobs and making applications. I use mainly this spreadsheet and LinkedIn for my work search.

Based on the roles that I apply to I adjust my CV and add a cover letter. Also, because my portfolio contains all of my work I send a specific page to the employer based on the position. Also, when it comes to applications I had to understand that actually receiving feedback on applications is extremely rare, and not to get discouraged if I don’t hear back. The presentation we had on finding work was very helpful and it taught me that once you get to the interview stage you should actively chase them, however before that it’s not appropriate.

I have understood now that Job Hunting is a complex process and does not necessarily reflect how good you are, however, that doesn’t mean there is no room for improvement!
