Animation for Films / Games / Commercial + Companies & Studios

So far I have established for myself that 3D or CGI animation is what I am most interested in persuing. However, I have not decided what exactly I would like to do with it. This type of animating can be incorporated in many artistic projects: from films, computer games and art pieces to commercials and really any part of digitalising visuals for various areas – education, medicine, business, etc.

After learning the techical parts of computer animation and actually understanding how everything works and how are things done, I wonder do the basics vary based on the area of output? Developing a deeper understanding of how this type of animation can be used is quite important and you can’t just make pretty animations; they need to be compatible with the area of output.

I am only familiar with animation for Films so I’ve familiarised myself with the other animation areas and made some notes:
