What I’ve learned so far about the CGI industry is that no one does it all and no one specislises in everything. Although that I would kneed to be able to do everything by myself to create my own films (from storyboard to animatic, character design, 3D models, rigging, lighting, layout, sound, animation, post-production, etc.) I am sure that doing everything on my own now will be beneficial for me in the future as it is always helpful to know at least the basics of all areas in CG animation.
So I looked into what roles are out there and what part of the production process these roles come in place, I made a list with all key roles to summarise my research. Also, I was wondering how to explain in short that I have knowledge in all areas of 3D animated film productions and I found out that the position which combines everything from modeling, animation, lighting etc. is: 3D Generalist.

After being informed about all roles, I have evaluated my skills and interests and can say that the part I am most interested in is Major Animation, VFX, and Colouring/Texturing, maybe also lighting.
The LIAF project, the reflection on reality project and my research on the industry has helped me to prepare myself for all main processes in 3D animation production, and I believe that I have solid knowledge of the main tasks and jobs that can be given to a 3D generalist.
